"Billie"

BEFORE. Nice vintage desk with original town and country hardware.
Look at those carvings at the bottom... LUV it!

Hi Lovies,
Well here is that chippy luuvvvvvvv..desk I was tellin' ya about the other day. She is all done up in "Provence" from ASCP. Dark waxed it like a mutha' and TA DAAAAAA... I call her "Billie" Cuz' she's got some dirty blues honey! Hope you likey..

OH! I tried a new tool out  I read about...cabinet scrapers...I guess they are used in finishing cabinetry, ya' know..for like..SCRAPING!? ;)  BUT they also help with giving a chippy look!I got mine from ebay for $16.00 for 3 different styles of blade. I found the curvy one is the one I liked best. I even took video.. check it out..

*DISCLAIMER* I am not a video editor and I have no idea how to "Cut and/or Splice" so, sorry..your just gonna have to sit through the whole boring thing! hahha Just wanted to share how I achieved the chippy look (ALSO, some people do this same process with a razor blade..Yikes!)

I used Annie Sloan "Provence"

She had some very minor issues..nothing a little wood filler can't fix!

                                             Like butta'....

When it gets too chilly to paint outside, paint in...YOUR KITCHEN!

Here she is.....

Happy painting girls and boys!

Oh mah' GAUD! (Gaudy Mirror, that is...)

Hi Lovey!
I got this mirror from my girl Susie at VnB estate service and she gave me a GREAT deal! Of course, I immediately saw the potential in this old girl...

Whaaa... You don't see the potential here?? You will...... = )

Mmkay, you guys the routine by now, right? A.S.C.P Baby! I whipped out my chalk paint and let her rip, tater chip!

Old White

To paint as close to the frame as possible shove a piece of paper under the frame to get as close to the inside edges as possible when painting. Next time I think I will buy a couple of pieces of scrapbook card stock!
(A little sturdier piece of paper would have been nice)

All taped off now, and first coat is applied.

2nd coat is on BUT I need to do all the recessed areas and little carved areas..

This stencil brush from  Michael's worked well in the more recessed and hard to get to areas.

Paintings done..Get to Distressing!

Nice and scruffy..

Be sure to blow off all existing dust, then Apply your base coat of clear wax.

Then make your mash up! (Equal parts of clear and dark mixed together)

Cover everywhere you want an antiqued and aged look.

Get a glob of clear wax, and start removing the wax where you don't want it
OR where you don't want it as heavy..
Look how easy this wipes off!

All Done..

VIOLA!

Thanks for stoppin' by..
Muah!

* P.S, Here's a sneak peek into what is coming soon.... (Rubbing hands together) Muah ha ha ha ha
