Bitty in training..

Got this little old glass front cabinet from a client and it was in purrrty bad shape :/

Alot of loose veneer, chipping and what not..took her in, painted the outside in a very light turquoise  mix up of Provence and Old White. Painted the back panel in a pumped up version of Antoinette pink and just because I reaaaally need to do SOMETHING with my vintage fabric hoard *uhhum.."STASH"

I decoupaged some cute little turquoise polka dot fabric on the shelves as well..

As I was staging this to take the picture, I went inside and grabbed all my little granny knick knacks and dust collectors and just thought...Damn! I am going to be one SERIOUS old Bitty! I'm gonna have a  huge problem COLLECTION by then of  Kitschy doo dads, bits, baubles and what nots by then..

Ahhhhh that's the life..just me. my 87 Cats, my blinged out bingo dotters, orthopedic support hose, and my moo moo's. Hell's Yeah, Golden Years..here I come!!

What a long strange trip....

A Long (Beach) strange trip that is...Sunday Debbie, Angela & I went on the hunt at the Long Beach Antique market. For those of you who don't know, Here in Southern California...the Long Beach Antique market is the older, uglier, and slightly gimpy sister..to the All mighty "Rose Bowl" in Pasadena.

 The selection is good, but the pricing varies from completely delusional, yuppy, wanna be "Pickers" to not quite lucid, possible tweakers(?) selling their poor granny's stuff at just cat shit crazy prices! So......needless to say..yah' gotta' weed through the vendors! At least we had a list and a focus since we were on a time crunch!Buuttttt my A.D.D ass was all over the place! They had so much. WEIRD stuff!

Buckle up...I'm gonna run you all over this motha'!

But I just have to give an honorable mention to a couple of my favorite pieces....

Ummm...can everyone see that this MONSTROSITY is propped up against a 4x4 JEEP! This woman is the longest woman in history! Uh...your height perception is just a TAD bit OFF their... Picasso! 

And THIS one.. well it's pretty self explanatory right? lurved it!

So there you have it, the Good the bad and the very frickin' ugly! In short, it is a great place to find one of a kind pieces and a JEM of a place to people watch! See ya' there!

WOW!!!!!!!!! The yard sale gods smiled down on me TO-DAY!Wanna help me drool over ma' stuff!?

OK. Seriously I bummed $17 off of the hubs and took out $20 from the ATM and here's what $37 dollars bought me this fine morning...3 vintage Pyrex nesting bowls, a milk glass bed side lamp,milk glass goblet,bubble glass creamer and sugar, vintage flour, coffee and tea tins,an old rocking chair, oak night stand  table, a huge old picnic basket,an excellent condition of vintage nursery room wall accents from the Dolly toy co., a Marston pottery Circa 1950 deviled egg tray for 2 dollars!!!,2 vintage card table cloths Annnnnnd a precious little SKUNK! Oh how I lurve skunks!! You Guys, this is by far my BEST Hunting day to date =) I am in HEAVEN! My husband just wants to know where all this crap is gonna go?! hahahha..I WILL be doing a flea market FOR SURE! I have just too many goodies here & I'm cool like that...I can share tha' love...Maybe I'll see you guys out there! I'll keep ya' posted!

Hi erry' Body!

Well, How dee doo? This is my VERY first blog post and I am so excited!My name is Melissa, and I am a Junkin' Disorderly kinda girl with a soft spot for shabby and vintage...My husband has awesome carpentry skills and together we enjoy refinishing and up cycling old furniture.
