Chippy New Years!!

Happy New Year Luvs!

Well, looks like I am starting this year off BUSY! I have 3 commission pieces coming in Saturday and then a large dresser, week after that! Sooo since I know I won't have time to play..I thought I would share a cute little end table that I did a quick flip on and for some reason really hated to see the thing go?! It was just so stinkin' cute!!

So, I picked up the small little vintage end table from a woman I buy pulls and knobs from. I just purchased some knobs from her and her husband comes into the kitchen holding this little beat up end table. He says, would you be interested in this table for 5 bucks?....

Uh, does a bear shit in the woods?! yea'!! SOLD. Brother.. Got her home, and I noticed that the piece had probably been outside because the front two planks were starting to lift,so I grabbed some wood glue and a couple clamps and put Humpty Dumpty back together again.

In the morning I took some Vaseline on the tip of my finger and ran it here and there and everywhere to work as a barrier where I DON'T want the paint to stick. I like using this technique because it just creates a nice authentic, organic chippy look and not so much elbow grease. It definitely doesn't have a "scratched up" look it's a more peeling and chipping affect. I grabbed a pot of my favorite, simply white by Cece Caldwell

(before she changed the formula, wahhhhhhhhh don't get me started!) and gave her a couple coats. Once dry, I just got a plastic putty spatula

and started using it to scrape up the edges and areas where the vaseline
was. Paint comes off like buttah'! Switched out the Little plain knob for an adorable mint green glass knob and it just changed the whole look, but since I'm on a "Cath Kidston"

obsession right now. I had to add some little mint polkadots embellishment on the side of the drawers and I also stenciled a fleur-de-lis "thingamuhbob" on the pull out drawer. She is a changed woman completely!

Alright, enough slacking off...back to work! Talk to you guys soon.

"Dirty Donna!"

Meet my newest "Dirty Girl" Donna....

I had this poor thing collecting dust in my entry way for about a year now..

Not because I didnt WANT to paint her...She just hadn't told me the color yet! My knee jerk is TURQUOISE but hell, If I keep painting EVERYTHING turquoise..they're gonna have to call me "Turoquoise LOCO"'N-T, Who..I decided to go with white..

And I liked her with this "Moderate"distressing, but.....

Once I got that sander in my hot little hand I couldn't STOP, something took over me! That distressing felt so RIGHT! Now! It wouldn't be a Shabby Loco Original if I didn;t have SOME turquoise in there?! Duh...So, I dry brushed some here and there for depth and contrast ;)

Long story short, I whacked her, smacked her and stripped her down..and I lub it! Hope you do too..

Now, How am I going to sell this one..Ugh! #Painterchickproblems

Bitty in training..

Got this little old glass front cabinet from a client and it was in purrrty bad shape :/
Alot of loose veneer, chipping and what not..took her in, painted the outside in a very light turquoise  mix up of Provence and Old White. Painted the back panel in a pumped up version of Antoinette pink and just because I reaaaally need to do SOMETHING with my vintage fabric hoard *uhhum.."STASH"
I decoupaged some cute little turquoise polka dot fabric on the shelves as well..

As I was staging this to take the picture, I went inside and grabbed all my little granny knick knacks and dust collectors and just thought...Damn! I am going to be one SERIOUS old Bitty! I'm gonna have a  huge problem COLLECTION by then of  Kitschy doo dads, bits, baubles and what nots by then..
Ahhhhh that's the life..just me. my 87 Cats, my blinged out bingo dotters, orthopedic support hose, and my moo moo's. Hell's Yeah, Golden Years..here I come!!

Mama's comin' babies., gimme' bout 40 years...

Beautiful carvings and original wooden, and iron pulls. Strong, stretcher base with tons of wear, charm and distressed areas. I have refinished this piece in a Soft, Charcoal black chalk paint and sealed by hand with a dark wax for added protection and a beautiful velvety Luster!
